SafarisAfricana is a labour of love from UK-based husband and wife team Ed & Jacquie. This website is an outlet for our passion for all things safari, giving us an opportunity to share our experiences and knowledge of African safaris. Choosing the right safari holiday for you can be complex but our aim is to make researching safari destinations, lodges, and tour companies easy, giving a no-nonsense view of the options on offer.
Now both professional travel content creators we’ve had previous corporate lives in the worlds of online travel and finance. We’ve been visiting all corners of Africa for the past 30 years and it was only natural that it was the first continent we chose to visit on a 12-month sabbatical. Our four-month overland trip took us from Uganda to South Africa before heading to Sri Lanka and India for more safaris.

Pre-kids our safari experiences ranged from pitching our two-man tent in basic camps in national parks through Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa and Malawi, to luxury fly-in safaris to Botswana’s Okavango Delta, and self-drive safaris to high-end lodges around Namibia’s Etosha and Damaraland regions.
In recent years the arrival of our two sons has meant far fewer safari trips, but we started taking the kids on African safaris when they were 2 years old and they loved it. Kids are allowed on game drives in some places and it’s a highly educational experience for them, helping to ensure the next generation of animal conservationists. We’re regular visitors to Africa once again now that they’re old enough to really appreciate being on safari.
